Design / Style

Right now we are in the middle of finding the right design. So far nothing is carved in stone and we’re searching for the right concepts that’ll fit best to the story.

Design goals

  • High quality visual

  • Originality

The quality we want to deliver should stay close to the quality of animation feature film productions. That is an ambitious aim, but if we put enough effort into the design process, I’m sure we achieve it.

Even though there’s no creative idea that came out of nowhere, we do not want to just copy our references. The success of The Muffin relies a lot on how original the design is and on its recognition.

How do we develop our design? references and drawings!

As a first step, we will define the design and style of the animations by delivering plenty of mood boards, concept art and references to other projects and films, that are inspiring. Everyone is invited to deliver them, and we will decide together and pick out the best ideas from all.

Once the design guideline has settled, contributors should stick close with it to ensure design consistency. It will not work out when every episode/shot/character or property has a complete different look, so keep that in mind.

When you collect material for references, please respect the copyright of the copyright holders. Do not post content on the muffin websites if it’s illegal.
